Program Description:
(Interdisciplinary Certificate of Achievement: Performance & Communication Arts, Engineering & Technology)

This curriculum prepares students to work in the radio broadcast and related digital audio studio industries as a technician designing digital studio installations, servicing radio broadcast transmitters, satellite receivers, remote pickup equipment, studio-transmitter links and studio computer systems. Preparation includes a foundation in Federal Communications Commission technical rules and regulations pertaining to the radio broadcast services, workmanship, system documentation and knowledge of current digital audio formats and modulation systems. Emphasis is placed on developing a solid technical base in electricity, electronics, mathematics, and requirements unique to radio broadcasting that includes timeliness, system redundancy and the team effort required in the radio broadcast industry.

A Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.
