Program Description:
The curriculum prepares students for the workplace environment with skills required to work as an assistant to a fashion designer, merchandiser, stylist, production manager, or design room manager. The coursework covers essential skills in computer technologies, apparel construction, pattern development, and design concepts. Introduction to the apparel industry, textiles and the history of fashion will also be taught. Digital technologies include the preparation of tech packs with production flats, spec sheets, and costing. Career preparation includes a resume, preparation of an online portfolio and optional internship. Upon completion of the required course work, the student will have a working vocabulary and basic knowledge of the apparel industry.

A Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.
