Program Type: Certificate of Achievement

Division: Health Sciences

Program Description:
The curriculum prepares students to work as a Radiologic Technologist. Employment opportunities are in offices, clinics and hospitals. Students must provide their own transportation to off-campus clinical or laboratory sites.

Upon successful completion of the program the student is eligible to sit for the State of California examination to become certified as a Radiologic Technologist and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Examination.

A Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.

Requirements for admission into the Radiologic Technology program are:

1. It is recommended that all of the General Education classes that lead to an Associate Degree in Science be completed prior to admission to the program.
2. Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent with a 2.0 grade point average and a 2.0 in all college work.
3. Math 125, Physics 10/10L or Chemistry 2A and Physiology 2A and 2B or any Community College Equivalent course. These courses must be completed within the last three years. If math, physics or physiology course(s) are older than three (3) years, the student is strongly recommended to take a refresher course.
4. Minimum grade of C in MA 115 or equivalent course. This course must be completed within two years prior to entering program. A one-year recency for medical terminology is preferred.
5. Current CPR/BLS(Basic Life Support) for the American Heart Association - Health Care Provider card that must be maintained while enrolled in the program.
6. After acceptance into the program, submit a completed health form evidencing physical and emotional health including required immunizations/chest x-ray or Mantoux test.
7. Minimum age of 18 years, as mandated by State Health Code, Title 17.

Prerequisites:
Math 125 or equivalent course
Physics 10/10L or equivalent course
Physo 2A & B or equivalent course
MA 115 or equivalent course
