Program Description:
The short-term Medical Office options prepares students with entry-level skills to seek employment in doctor’s offices or clinics, performing specific tasks. These courses can be applied toward the requirements for the Certificate of Achievement in Medical Assisting, Administrative and Clinical. Students successfully completing an option are eligible to receive an Occupational Skills Certificate.
MEDICAL OFFICE TRANSCRIPTION
The medical office transcription option prepares students with entry-level skills to seek employment medical office transcriptionists. Instruction includes formatting documents including the history and physical, correspondence, discharge summaries, operative reports and special laboratory reports using a transcriber and word processing program. An Occupational Skills Certificate is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.
