Program Description:
The curriculum prepares students to work in smaller organizations with full-charge bookkeepers to record debits and credits, compare current and past balance sheets, summarize details of ledgers, and prepare reports for supervisors and managers. In large offices bookkeeper assistants are more specialized and their title may reflect the type of bookkeeping they do, such as accounts payable clerk or accounts receivable clerk. Knowledge of accounting and spreadsheet software is necessary.
A Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.
Note: Students who qualify to enroll in Acctg 1A their first semester should do so and enroll in Acctg 1B their second semester.
